Gan fod yr aloi hwn yn cynnwys cromiwm a molybdenwm, mae gwrthiant y Tiwb Di-dor Dur Di-staen 317L tuag at gyfryngau cyrydol fel cloridau neu amgylcheddau sy'n cynnwys sylffwr yn parhau i fod yn un o'r rhinweddau mwyaf poblogaidd.Yn union fel llawer o aloion carbon isel yn y gyfres 300, mae gan y Tiwbiau Offeryniaeth ASTM A213 TP 317L nitrogen wedi'i ychwanegu yn eu cemeg.Mae nitrogen yn cael ei ychwanegu at aloion o'r fath i gynyddu sefydlogrwydd austenite yr aloi.Yn union fel ychwanegu molybdenwm yn y deunydd SS 317L Cold Coiled Tubing, mae ychwanegu nitrogen yn ei gwneud yn gallu gwrthsefyll pylu.Un o'r risgiau o ostwng y cynnwys carbon mewn aloi yw bod y deunydd yn tueddu i golli ei gryfder tynnol.
